Watch Bats Fly from Congress Avenue Bridge

Austin Texas is the home of the largest urban population of Mexican free-tailed bats. Hundereds of thousands of bats fly nightly beginning at sunset, throughout Austin texas. You can witness this bat show happen at the Congress Avenue Bridge, where the bats start their flight from under the bridge around 7:45 PM. It can take as long as 45 minutes to see all of the bats exit from beneath the bridge.

You can also watch the bats from kayak, canoe, paddle board on Lady Bird Lake, or while taking a night stroll on butler bike and hike trail
